Visiting The Strand is must do when you are in Townsville as it’s very nice beach foreshore bustling with things to do and see. It has a 2.5km walkway with spectacular views which include Magnetic Island. It’s a great place to run, walk, bike or scooter.
I started my walk at the Southern end where there is a War Memorial park.
It provides a lovely vista looking over the memorial towards the yacht mooring.
From there it’s a leafy walk into the heart of the strand.
And the views across the water to Magnetic Island are breathtaking.
The Strand also has playgrounds, a water park, swimming area, beautiful palm trees, gelato, and a jetty which you can fish from. Being such picturesque part of Townsville, this 4K walking tour is packed with beautiful seaside visuals.
