Weekend staycation at Emporium Hotel, Brisbane

With Coranvirus continuing to make travel further afield restrictive I took the opportunity to have a vacation close to home, staying at https://www.emporiumhotels.com.au/ in South Bank, Brisbane.

It’s an impressive hotel with plenty of luxurious touches.

After checking in, the first thing on the agenda was to check out the rooftop bar The Terrace and have a few drinks.

The Terrace:

I sampled a couple of cocktails and then a bottle of wine whilst enjoying the ambiance and views:

After drinks it was time to check out the pool:

The views from both The Terrace and the pool give awesome vistas of Brisbane city.

I was heading out for dinner but before leaving it was time to go to The Piano bar for another drink. A signature Espresso Martini.

The next day was Sunday, and Signature restaurant at Emporium does a set course lunch every Sunday with the option to pair wines. I did one in August and it was so good I came back for more.

As usual, the food and wine were exceptional:

The King Crab and Argentinian Rose:

Kingfish and Argentian Blanco de la Casa:

Pork Belly and Argentinian Lujan de Cuyo:

And to finish off, the Roast Saddle of Lamb which was served with a Chilean red wine.

It may be difficult to travel long distances at this point in time but this visit to Emporium was only an hours drive away and full of highlights. Great food, great wine, great cocktails, great views, great times!
