My new local coffee shop is Randy Wallhole in Southport, and with coffee being served before 6am it’s a great place to get an early caffeine hit:

They also have an excellent range of bagel options:

Broadbeach has quite a few amazing breakfast options, including Elk Espresso which is always busy.
Chicken waffles and mimosa at Elk:

Koi do up a great Acai bowl, and when Frederick’s at Nobby Beach is open, they have amazing waffles:

Speaking of Frederick’s in Nobby Beach, they put on a monthly brunch and I attended the January Mexican themed feast:

For a quiet drink there’s Brooklyn Depot in Surfers Paradise for an espresso martin:

Obsessions on Chevron Island for a lazy Sunday beer:

Or my new favourite, Mr PPs rooftop bar in Southport. Another espresso martini:

Can’t go past some wings, either back at Brooklyn Depot:

Or at House of Brews in Surfers Paradise:

And speaking about House of Brews, how about these sliders? Beef, pork and calamari:

Some other dishes available to Brooklyn Depot I’ve enjoyed:
Lobster roll:

Mac and cheese:

French Dip sandwich

Pork Thingies

Dessert tacos!

A great, hidden away cocktail bar in Broadbeach is Soho. An excellent range of cocktails are available, it’s dark and great fun to sit at the bar:

I’ve joined the 100 pints of Guinness club at Lansdowne Road Tavern in Surfers Paradise. They have some of the best Guinness going around:

At one time I was going to Tonic on Chirn in Chirn Park weekly. Love their tapas plates but they also rustle up a good cocktail, wine or beer and have some yummy deserts too:

Where Fredrick’s is at Nobby Beach used to be an amazing restaurant called Sparrow Eating House. It was a favourite right up until it shut down:

Also shut down is Hurricane Grill in Circle on Cavill. It went through a few changes too many and that was the end of that but I used to enjoy their cold selection of goodies and a wine or beer:
