New Caledonia can be expensive, but it can also offer up some tasty and interesting food.
Breakfast:
My go to breakfast was a simple chocolate pain (pain au chocolat), a juice and a coffee from Le Faré du Palm Beach. Simple, inexpensive and the perfect start to the day and friendly staff too.

One morning I tried the hotel buffet (Novata) and it was excellent but cost four times as much.

Lunch:
There are numerous lunch options in Noumea. There a many takeaway places where you can order some food and drink and sit by the ocean.

Burger, chips and a drink from Le Totem in Anse Vata.
I also opted to eat in at Le Faré du Palm Beach where a burger and beer went down a treat!

I also opted for a magnificent French classic, the Croque Madame at Code Bar:

So good!
On Christmas Day I had a buffet at L’Equilibre which included Deer Salad.

Dinner:
One day I sampled a fantastic spread in Lemon Bay. Anywhere along Promenade Roger Laroque you can find yourself a great feed.

Pizza and Pasta was so good I went there twice and had the same meal both times – and it wasn’t pizza or pasta!
I had the Filet de Bouef with foie gras. Amazing!
