At the top of The Rock of Gibraltar, many monkeys roam about. They aren’t particularly scared of humans and are always on the lookout for food. I saw one jump on some guy’s back and the man was furious. Once he’d manage to extricate the monkey he shaped up ready to clock it, much to his wife’s disgust.
The English believe, whilst there are monkeys on Gibraltar, their hold on the piece of land south of Spain, will be forever theirs. When the population was dwindling, rumour has it new monkeys were placed on the rock in secret. Who knows if this is true.
