Santiago de Compostela: An evening stroll through the Old Town

It rains a lot in Santiago de Compostela, but that’s okay. It’s still a great ancient city to walk around.

In the Old Town, the narrow cobbled streets have very few motor vehicles meaning easy access for pedestrians and tourists.

It’s a very historic religious city, and the architecture is stunning.

The University is a grand building:

There is a great restaurant strip down Rúa do Franco, where I was recommended a restaurant called Mesón 42 (http://www.meson42.com/index.php) for some traditional Gallic food.

I started with some wine and snacks:

Followed by a traditional Gallic Pie. Very scrumptious.
