I was visiting Kotor for a short time but on my list of things to do was a journey partially up The Ladder of Kotor to enjoy the views of the medieval town and the magnificent bay.
The mountain overlooking Kotor towers over the beautiful Old Town.

To access the climb you need to traverse some historic vehicle free streets.

I went up towards the end of the day. You do need to pay some Euros to the locals who require payment for you to access the climb. I can’t remember how much it was but I don’t think it was too much. If you go up at night it is obviously free but would be a difficult walk without a torch.
I got part of the way up for a look at the view with the sun beginning to set.

I then trekked to the spot I was really keen to find as I’d seen a photo taken from here and vowed to get myself there too. It’s an amazing view with the church in the foreground, town below and bay and mountains further afield.
