If ever you are in Sarajevo, make sure you get up to Yellow Bastion to see the sun go down.

The walk there is interesting, and the view from the park is brilliant. You get to pass by a number of grave sites, sombrely reminded of Sarajevo’s turbulent recent past.

You can start the journey in the old town:

From there you head up some step but interesting streets:

Stop by the beautiful white graves to pay respect for the fallen:

Then keep on walking, high up above the old town and the city of Sarajevo:

Then sit, reflect, and wait for the sun to go down. It’s an amazing vantage point to witness the end of the day.
