Right in the heart of Prague, amongst the grandiose architecture, gothic structures and intricate doorways there’s a diner – an American Diner.
James Dean Prague.
Stepping inside is like stepping into a different world – the checkered floor, the gaudy colours, the long bar with its diner stools, the juke box and guitars.
Elvis.
And of course … James Dean.
The waitress are fitted out in 50s style uniforms, and service is very prompt and friendly. And they all look so cute.
You can sit up at the bar and have a drink and or a smoke, or take a table for a meal where they offer breakfast til late and burgers and steaks throughout the day. Very much diner style fare, but perfect for the occasion if you choose to visit. And prices are exceptionally low.
During the day, music is of the 60s variety, gently filling in the background. From 9pm there is a club downstairs, which unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to visit yet, but from all reports is very popular.
There is also outside seating for a drink or a meal.
As mentioned, James Dean Prague is right in the heart of the city and for a novelty contrast to the majestic charms of this beautiful city it’s well worth a visit.
